Peptides have surged in popularity, rapidly entering the commercial mainstream as claims circulate about anti-aging, muscle growth and enhanced cognitive function. A “gray market” has emerged online to meet demand, according to PBS , with companies creating compounded or unapproved formulations and adding “for research use only” disclaimers.
