Iran’s Firm Warning at IAEA: Nuclear Industry Will Not Be Destroyed by Assassination and Sabotage

Iran’s Firm Warning at IAEA: Nuclear Industry Will Not Be Destroyed by Assassination and Sabotage
Arya News Agency - The spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) emphasized at the 70th IAEA General Conference that the country's nuclear industry is deeply rooted, and the Iranian nation will not succumb to pressure, assassination, or sabotage.
According to Arya News Agency, Behrouz Kamalvandi, Deputy for International, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs at the AEOI, outlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's stance during his speech. He criticized the host country for violating the IAEA hosting agreement under US pressure, which prevented the head of Iran's AEOI from attending the event, describing this move as "childish behavior."
Highlighting a history of US hostility and recent threats to return Iran to the "Stone Age," Kamalvandi stated: "Case-building against Iran, in collaboration with hostile groups and intelligence services, has paved the way for heavy pressure, comprehensive sanctions, the assassination of scientists, and industrial sabotage." Recalling the martyrdom of prominent scientists and innocent civilians, he questioned why the IAEA Director General has not condemned military attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, despite having condemned the 1981 attack on Iraq's facilities.
Emphasizing the transparency of Iran's nuclear program, he noted: "Securing sensitive facilities underground does not mean concealment; IAEA inspectors have always been present there." Kamalvandi also highlighted Iran's domestic achievements, including the Bushehr nuclear power plant achieving a top-tier safety rating, generating 80 billion kWh of electricity, and producing 76 effective radiopharmaceuticals that treat over 1.5 million patients annually.
In his concluding warning to adversaries, Kamalvandi asserted: "Enemies of Iran should know that science, technology, knowledge, and the nuclear industry in Iran are deeply rooted and will not be destroyed by military operations, sabotage, and assassination. Iran will not surrender." He concluded his speech by reiterating the slogan of the country's martyred leader: "Nuclear energy for all, and nuclear weapons for no one."
