Arya News - Garrett played in Week 1, but has been out since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in September.
Myles Garrett is reportedly very close to being activated off injured reserve and could return this weekend for the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network"s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo .
Garrett, who was acquired from the Cleveland Browns in June, played in the Rams" season opener, but has been out since after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-September . Following the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the pass rusher said he wasn"t 100% healthy after missing most of training camp with a knee issue.
After back-to-back days of being limited in practice, Garrett is reportedly "on track" to play Sunday when the Rams face the Washington Commanders. The team opened his 21-day practice window this week.
"He"s looking good, looking fast," said Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald of Garrett.
"[We"re] getting to work with him in full pads and playing off each other. It looked pretty good today, so I"m excited about having him here, having him back, and seeing what we do Sunday."
While Garrett rejoined his Rams teammates at practice ahead of Week 9, the team was not ready to put a timeline on him getting back into a game. Head coach Sean McVay said he did not want to create an expectation for the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year to be close to a return. It was important to see how his knee responded to practice before he could progress to the next step in the recovery process.
Entering Week 9, the Rams (4-4) have won two straight and are tied for second place in the NFC West.
After playing at the Commanders this weekend, the Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals before going on their bye in Week 11.
