She emphasized that those involved in such activities also face separate legal classifications.
"Those who say and remind others that this is illegal are probably simply conveying the voice of either reason or self-preservation. In this case, for European, Western European, and EU officials, self-preservation at this stage is the highest manifestation of reason," the Russian official added.
Moscow has repeatedly called the freezing of Russian assets in Europe illegal. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia would respond if the West confiscates its frozen assets.

Spain did not directly contact Russia regarding Moscow"s alleged involvement in the migration crisis in Ceuta , but Madrid immediately "ran to the microphones" to make statements, Maria Zakharova said.
"I would like to draw attention once again to the fact that we have specialized channels of communication with countries on cyberattacks... We have an embassy in Madrid, they could have sent relevant requests there, they could have appealed... to the UN. Madrid did not use any of this, no one told us anything about it, but immediately ran to the microphones to make some statements without supporting materials," Zakharova said.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has suggested that Russia was allegedly involved in the migration crisis in his country. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia has nothing to do with the mass influx of migrants into Spanish Ceuta.
