Chinese army medics in Laos for joint training exercise
Arya News - The exercise is part of continuing defence and humanitarian co-operation between Laos and China, with the two sides using medical activities to strengthen practical cooperation and promote friendship between their armed forces and peoples.

VIENTIANE – A medical team from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army arrived in Vientiane on Sunday to take part in the Peace Train 2026 humanitarian assistance and medical service joint exercise between the Chinese and Lao armed forces.
The delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Head of the General Logistics Department of the Lao People’s Army, Brigadier General Buasing Inthavong, and a member of the Steering Committee for the Peace Train 2026 joint exercise.
Speaking on behalf of the Lao Ministry of National Defence, Brigadier General Buasing extended a warm welcome to the Chinese medical team and highlighted the importance of the exercise in strengthening the longstanding friendship between Laos and China, as well as between their respective armed forces and military medical units.
The Peace Train 2026 Humanitarian Assistance and Medical Service exercise is the sixth of its kind.
An opening ceremony for the programme was scheduled to take place on Monday at the General Logistics Department Hall in Vientiane, followed by field training at the Dongphosy simulation site in Hadxaifong district.
The exercise will enable Lao and Chinese military medical personnel to share expertise, strengthen co-ordination and enhance their capacity to respond jointly to humanitarian and medical emergencies.
Following completion of the exercise, the Peace Train 2026 medical team will continue medical work at Military Central Hospital 103, Regional Military Hospital 106, Regional Military Hospital 109 and in Attapeu province.
The exercise is part of continuing defence and humanitarian co-operation between Laos and China, with the two sides using medical activities to strengthen practical cooperation and promote friendship between their armed forces and peoples.
