Arya News Agency - The Turkish Interior Minister emphasized during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Ankara the necessity of including PKK branches in Syria and Iraq, as well as the PJAK group in Iran, in the dissolution process.
According to Arya News Agency, "Mustafa Ciftci", Turkey's Interior Minister, wrote on the social media platform X following his meeting with "Eskandar Momeni", his Iranian counterpart: "We are strengthening our long-standing and deep-rooted neighborhood through joint security measures."
Referring to hosting the Iranian delegation at the Turkish Ministry of Interior, he added that the bilateral meeting reviewed key areas of security cooperation, including counter-terrorism, border security, illegal migration, drug trafficking, and combating modern criminal networks.
The Turkish Interior Minister also evaluated the progress of the "Terrorism-Free Turkey" process under the directive of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating: "Iran and Turkey emphasized the importance of completing the dissolution process of all branches and extensions of this organization under various names and in different regions."
Ciftci, noting the laying down of arms by the PKK/KCK, pointed out: "To achieve peace and security in the region, we emphasized the importance of including PKK branches in Syria and Iraq, as well as PJAK branches in Iran, within the framework of the dissolution process." He concluded by expressing his desire to create a stable and secure region similar to Turkey's internal environment, stressing the continued resolute confrontation with cross-border threats through solidarity with neighboring countries.
