Iran Official Exposes Bessent’s Inconsistent ‘Victory’ Rant as ‘Bitter Admission of US Defeat’

Iran Official Exposes Bessent’s Inconsistent ‘Victory’ Rant as ‘Bitter Admission of US Defeat’
Arya News - US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent`s article about the final stage of the US military campaign against Iran is full of inconsistencies and basically proves Washington`s defeat, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on Monday.

"Mr. Bessent! Something doesn’t add up in your stories: you say that Iran’s military potential has been "dismantled" 100%, military factories have been "destroyed," and the nuclear program has been "buried." However, you claim that to counter this very Iran, "the single greatest financial offensive ever" and the mobilization of "every agency, every authority and action" are needed. Is this a victory or a bitter admission of defeat?" Gharibabadi wrote on X. Later in the day, Bessent is expected to hold a press conference to outline details of the economic measures. US President Donald Trump announced the launch of an economic operation against Iran on August 20, calling it "isolation on an unprecedented scale." He urged US allies to join Washington. Trump, however, previously noted that Washington"s shift to an economic warfare strategy against Tehran did not mean the US was abandoning any military options. On Sunday, Bessent said in an op-ed for media that the United States, thanks to the launch of an economic operation against Iran, is entering the final stage of its conflict with the country.
