            Storm damage to Philippine agriculture and infrastructure tops $200 million
            Arya News - Agricultural damage was reported in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cordillera, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas.

            MANILA – Agriculture and infrastructure damage from the combined effects of tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay, Neneng, and Pilandok and the southwest monsoon (habagat) has so far reached around PHP12.4 billion.
            Data released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday showed that estimated agriculture damage reached around PHP4.1 billion while infrastructure damage is around PHP8.3 billion.
            Agriculture damage was reported in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cordillera, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Western Visayas.
            Affected farmers and fisherfolk in these regions totalled to 92,868, while affected crop area was estimated to be around 80,274.94 hectares.
            The NDRRMC said some 56,786.88 hectares of damaged crop areas have a chance of recovery while 23,488.06 hectares do not have any chance of recovery.
            Meanwhile, infrastructure damage was recorded in Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas.
            NDRRMC said around 3,758 houses in seven regions were damaged while 603 were destroyed.
            Fatalities reported in this update numbered to 44, with 12 confirmed to be caused by severe weather disturbances.
            Likewise, 18 persons were reported injured while five are missing.
