Arya News Agency -TEHRAN – Iran's Economy Minister Seyyed Ali Madanizadeh has underscored the strategic significance of the second BRICS economic and central bank chiefs' summit in India, citing local currency settlements, independent payment systems, and the North-South transport corridor as key gains for the Islamic Republic.
Speaking after the unanimous approval of the summit's final declaration, Madanizadeh said the expanded use of local currencies and reduced dollar dependence would help neutralize sanctions. He also highlighted joint infrastructure investment and completion of the North-South corridor as major priorities, citing lower transit costs and strong member-state interest.
The minister expressed hope that the new convergence would help establish a new economic pole and facilitate Iran's trade with BRICS members.
