Arya News Agency -TEHRAN – Iran's Central Bank has called for BRICS to focus its financial track on practical projects, cross-border payment solutions, fast payment system connectivity, and central bank digital currency cooperation, during the bloc's second finance ministers' and central bank governors' meeting in Mumbai.
Abolfazl Koodei, the bank's deputy for international affairs, who attended online, voiced support for the joint statement while stressing the need for stronger financial engagement amid rising geopolitical tensions and global economic fragmentation. He also urged expedited review of new members' applications to the New Development Bank, IMF governance reform favoring emerging economies, and expanded trade and investment settlement in national currencies.
The Central Bank reaffirmed its readiness to contribute constructively to deepening inclusive, secure, and mutually beneficial financial cooperation among BRICS members.
